70 Fassier Duval bone intrauterine implants were used to treat osteogenesis imperfecta

For the first time in our country, the Public Foundation for the Support of Children is implementing the National project "Children of Crystal" with the aim of treating children diagnosed with osteogenesis imperfecta. 

Today, as part of this project, the Republican Children's Orthopedic Center has received 70 bone intraosseous implants used in the treatment of osteogenesis imperfecta, as well as special surgical equipment for their surgical installation.

It follows from world experience that currently there are surgical (correction of bone curvature) and conservative (strengthening of bone structure) methods of modern treatment of the disease "osteogenesis imperfecta". Since such methods of treatment had not previously been used in Uzbekistan, parents had to take their sick children to countries such as Russia, South Korea, India, and Turkey for surgical treatment. 

According to the agreement between the Children's Support Fund and the Republican Orthopedic Center, for the first time in Uzbekistan, special surgical equipment and internal bone implants were imported for the surgical installation of Fassier Duval telescopic structures and fixators. And this has been applied in practice since 2023 and has produced an effective result.

We believe that this line, presented by the foundation on New Year's Eve, will be an excellent basis for many sick children to wait their turn to return to a healthy life.
